What is Yozakura?

"Yozakura" is a cool word from Japan! 🌸 It means "night sakura" or "nighttime cherry blossoms." Imagine 🌙✨

People in Japan love this, especially during cherry blossom season. They have special events where they light up the cherry blossoms at night. It's like a big party with lots of lights and fun! 🎉

Why in Salem, OR?

Salem 💐 has loved cherry blossoms 🍒 since a long time ago! Back in 1903, they had their first Cherry Festival 🎉. Four years later, in 1907, Salem got the cool nickname "Cherry City" 🌸. People really liked cherries there!

There was a group called the "Cherrians" who wanted to have a big Blossom Day every year 🌸. They tried in 1913, but it didn't work out.

But don't worry! In 2015, they brought it back! Now, every year, Salem has a big party to celebrate cherry blossoms 🥳. It's a fun time for everyone!
